My Space space

Well, thanks to Beth Grbavcich we now have a My Space space which is going to drive all kinds of business and attention to our website and we're going to sell a lot of books and we're going to make a lot of authors happy and we're going to be on David Letterman. Aren't we something! When Letterman's people called we couldn't find an open date so...tough beans Dave. Maybe next year! Oh, and Dick Cheney called and asked us to publish his memoirs of his years as President of the United States, but we told him to try Print on Demand. Such fun!

Luella and Pancake help pugs in need

Savage Press is pleased to donate a copy of Luella, by Melinda Braun, to the Northern Illinois Pug Rescue and Adoption (NIPRA). On Saturday, September 15, NIPRA will hold its annual Pug Jam in Rockford, Illinois. Luella will be an item in their silent auction to raise money for the pug rescue. Whether or not Luella and Pancake make a lot of money for NIPRA, it's certain that one lucky pug owner will be going home with an adorable children's book that day!

Kat's Magic Bubble

We've got an interesting new book coming out this fall called Kat's Magic Bubble, written by Jeff Lower of Moose Lake, MN. What makes this book "interesting" is the size. It is a full-color illustrated book but it is not a large format book. It is 6x9 and is formatted as a reader's book rather than a viewer's book. But, and this is a big caveat, the illustrations by Pegi Bellenger are nothing short of phenomenal. KMB, as we call it around her, is also interesting because it tells a sad story involving hope, faith, love, and courage...just to mention a few of the better character traits we humans possess. In the end, Kat dies of her heart problems, but along the way she teaches everyone that love and life are truly unquenchable. We're looking forward to the realease of KMB in October.

Luella Buzz Building

Everywhere I go with Luella the duck, the buzz is good. All the bookstore managers are highly complimentary. All the readers are thrilled with Mindy's art and Luella's story. Even pug owners are taking notice of Pancake and her vital role in Luella's life. What fun!

JUST DUCKY

Melinda Braun...what can I say? Talented. Beautiful. Talented. Energetic. Talented. Artistic. Talented. Beee-yoo-tee-ful. Did I say talented? Determined. Check out Melinda's new book at the home page and read how she listened to her grandmother and believed she could accomplish anything she wanted. And now that belief is manifested in her new book, Luella...the Duck? A great book by a (dare I say...?) Talented artist, author, and cat herder! Way to go Melinda. We're excitedly sending out review copies and promotional materials. We're hoping to get the book launched at Garrison's new bookstore (Common Ground) in St. Paul. Wish us luck!
